Acoustic Folk Music

About Us
Alyce Stoops plays fretted dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, Irish whistle and sings.  Her first dulcimers were gifts made by her uncle.  Her family history is full of people who love traditional music and have passed this love onto Alyce.  Alyce is a member of Standing Stone Strings and Things dulcimer club, the Columbus Folk Music Society, and volunteers for the Ohio Wildlife Center.  Check out the Wild Fest held annually at the center.  More details are on our events page.

Al Belasco plays guitar and sings.  Al and his wife, Elaina, have been filled with joy the last few years as their family has grown by in-laws and two grandsons.  Al adds solid accompaniment, humor, great singing, and can lift all the heavy stuff!

Elaine Schnipke plays the bodhran, the dumbek, spoons, shakers and sings.  Elaine never turns down an opportunity to play.  She provides percussion for COHO (harpists) and is a Music Care volunteer for the James Cancer Hospital.  Her beautiful dumbek was made in Cairo, Egypt and is inlaid with mother-of-pearl.  Her bodhran was crafted in Ireland for her.

Beth Duffield plays hammered dulcimer, fretted dulcimer and sings.  Beth started playing fretted dulcimer in 1992 and received her first hammered dulcimer from her husband, James, as an anniversary present in 1998.  She is a member of the Standing Stone Strings and Things dulcimer club.  Beth also enjoys volunteering as a Music Care musician for the James Cancer Hospital. Currently, Beth's favorite songs to play are Spancil Hill, South Wind (hammer dulcimer), The Lost Canadian and Brand New Day by Steven K. Smith (fretted dulcimer).
